The master bedroom is painted in
two tones of a warm Paris gray. The bed was custom designed for the
room, as were the bed linens. The fabrics are from Designer's Guild
which has a showroom in Paris. There is a non-functioning marble
fireplace not visible in the photo with a large mirror above it. All
moldings, herringbone wood floors, doors, mantle and other details are
original to the turn-of-the-century apartment. There are
hand-gilded accents on the wainscot, mirror and French doors and
windows. The chandelier is another vintage find from the marche aux
puces. There is a 19th century, antique armoire for storage of
clothing. There is also a small closet. The en suite master bathroom
is newly redone in white tile with black and gray-veined marble accents
to match the marble mantle in the bedroom. The bathroom is quite small
by American standards but very typical for Paris. There is a shower,
but no tub.
