The second bedroom is done up in cream and sage.
The curtains are a taffeta stripe. The French quilts or "boutis" were a
purchase from Galleries Lafayette. This room also has all of its
original architectural details. We believe this room was used as a
parlor for receiving guests originally (as was the master bedroom),
which would explain the fireplaces, heavy moldings and herringbone
floors in both rooms. The two built-in armoires were added as a 20th
century concession to practicality but were designed to look original in
the recent renovation. The chandelier is a gilded rock crystal piece
from a Paris atelier. |
